The Adelante Fund exists to provide immediate financial support to immigrant families in the Greater Kansas City metro area facing urgent needs. Whether it's legal assistance, housing support, or food security, we ensure that help reaches those who need it—quickly and with dignity.
Why We Exist
Too many immigrant families in Kansas City struggle to access critical resources due to systemic barriers, high costs, and bureaucratic delays. The Adelante Fund cuts through the red tape, delivering direct, fast, and flexible assistance when it matters most.
What We Fund
✅ Legal Support – Fees for immigration cases, asylum applications, and legal representation.
✅ Housing Assistance – Rent, deposits, emergency shelter.
✅ Food & Basic Needs – Groceries, transportation, medical supplies.
How It Works
🔹 Fast Application Process – No unnecessary paperwork. Just a simple request form.
🔹 Quick Turnaround – Funds are reviewed and disbursed within 48 hours (Monday to Friday).
🔹 Direct Support – Cash assistance through Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, or Direct Payment to Landlord/Service Provider.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for assistance, applicants must meet the following criteria:
✅ Residency: Must reside in the Greater Kansas City metro area (Missouri or Kansas) within the following counties: Cass County, MO; Clay County, MO; Jackson County, MO; Platte County, MO; Johnson County, KS; and Wyandotte, KS.
✅ Immigration Status: Priority given to undocumented individuals, asylum seekers, TPS recipients, DACA recipients, mixed-status families, and newly arrived immigrants.
✅ Financial Need: Must demonstrate an urgent financial need due to economic hardship, legal challenges, or lack of access to other forms of aid.
✅ Use of Funds: The request must fall under one of the following categories:
Legal Support – Immigration fees, attorney costs, asylum applications.
Housing Assistance – Rent, deposits, emergency shelter.
Food & Basic Needs – Groceries, transportation, emergency medical needs.
Available Funding
1️⃣ Emergency Assistance – Up to $250
Covers immediate needs like food, transportation, and short-term essentials.
2️⃣ Housing & Stability Support – Up to $500
Helps cover partial rent, security deposits, or emergency housing costs.
3️⃣ Legal Support & Crisis Relief – Up to $1,000
Supports attorney fees, immigration applications, and urgent legal expenses.
Annual Household Cap: No household can receive more than $1,000 per year to allow more families to receive aid. Exceptions may be considered for extreme circumstances.
Exceptions & Special Considerations
We understand that every case is unique. Exceptions may be made for:
Extreme hardship cases (e.g., medical emergencies, deportation defense).
Families with children at high risk of displacement.
Community referrals from trusted partner organizations.
